I tend to prefer the author's earlier books. When she first started publishing her books contained possessive and jealous heroes who chased their heroines and were faithful to them. They only wanted their heroines and were blind to OW. She was an automatic buy for me.

As time progressed some of the author's heroes changed and in my opinion, not for the better. They became angry and abusive. Also some had smex with OW after meeting the heroines and/or during separations. In addition, some of the heroines pursued the heroes. I like none of these elements and so when her later books were published not only did I not automatically not buy them but after reading reviews I passed on buying may of them as well.

I am happy to say that this book reminded me of one of her older ones. While the hero starts out wanting revenge he never hurts the heroine. Also that revenge quickly changes to extreme wanting and eventually love is added to the mix. In addition like her earlier heroes, he is faithful to her. Since meeting her there is no indication that he had smex with OW even though it had been 5+ years. Soon after meeting her he is put in prison and when he gets out shortly thereafter he begins his revenge plans. Actually it shocked me that the heroine is the one that had smex with OP during the separation. Sure it was mediocre smex with one man but still in this author's books, if one of them was going to have smex with OP then it was always the hero while the heroine was a virgin and only ever with him. This is a change that I am fine with because it is rare for romance book that if only one of them is going to have smex with OP that it is the heroine. It is usually the hero that is with OP.
In this book, while the heroine initially comes on to him, it is brief and he is the one that pursues her 100%.

Some things about the author's books never changed and I wished that they would. The hero still has unrealistically large member and the book has not been professionally edited, In addition, also there were pages and pages of internal monologues this time from the hero and solely about him wanting revenge. It breezed through some of it.

What I did like is like most of this author's books the sexy times were good and there was the HEA ending with an epilogue.

I loved this book. This is the first of Jordan's books that I have liked in a while, even with the dig in chapter 6. I love her alpha males in these types of books. They would never hurt there women but they still know how to dominate.
This, was as usual, excellent writing by Jordan Silver. However...I don't care what the circumstances are, break up with your boyfriend or fiance before sticking another dock in your vagina. I hate, hate when a book contains a cheater. That is the lowest form of human behavior to another person. Other than that glaring issue, it was your usual Jordan Silver.
Whew! Todd gets screwed over HARD and now he's out for vengeance! Great characters, an interesting story-line and great writing. Great story Jordan Silver!
Loved this book, Jordan, and how you told the world how you felt in one paragraph. It was well written and to the point.
They took away five years of his life in prison for crimes others committed. He spent those five years stalking and planning vengeance against her for falsely accusing him of a hideous crime, which led to his whole world unraveling before him in the worst way imaginable. But nothing and no one will stop him from exacting his wrath upon her (might as well commit the crime they locked him up for and done). So as soon as he got released, he started putting his plan in action but something about the entire event and her reaction of fear did not sit well with him then and now. So he started digging into the past and everyone involved in his imprisonment and what he finds only enraged him more.

She has been attracted to him from the very beginning and her betrayal of him has her paying penance in her own way in order to live with her guilt. But then he was on her door step and all those feelings for him just came rushing at her and she did not know how to handle the emotions hitting her all at once. But he did not expect all the emotions and feelings for her to bombard him in exacting his vengeance and had to step back to assess his situation before going a step further with his plan.
We get her normal over the top Alpha caveman. We get the good girl who's hiding a secret. Then we get the love story that builds between them. This one's kind of deep and has a lot of backstory to it. I think this is one of better Jordan is best works for her new style that she's got. It's not as long as some of the story she's been putting out but it's definitely not a short read. This is a one click by for any of Jordans readers and anyone who is wanting to get into any of Jordan's books.
Warning will Jordan's books normally don't contain any cheating this one does have and engagement being destroyed so the true relationship that should've happened can you come to light. Well that's not really cheating she is not sleeping with two guys at once or you just have to have the warning because it's not normal for Jordan's books as that's not something mama ever does in her writing. Again this is simply a one click book and I'm really happy to see Jordan writing again.
