There were parts of the story that held my attention, especially the first half of the story. It was interesting. I liked that the heroine was atypical and unusual. There are not too many heroines who live on the street. Also the sex scenes between the hero and heroine, when they occurred were good. However I had problems with the story. For one, some parts dragged. Also too many characters became involved in the story, taking the focus away from the hero and heroine's romance. Also the ebook was too expensive. If I loved it or even really like it then it would be worth it but I didn't.

SPOILERS: Terrible things kept happening to the children and it was the fault of the adults. The heroine and the police, especially the werewolf police officer, knew the little boy being sexually abused by his drug addicted prostitute mother's johns and that both were being abused. However no one try to permanently remove them from the situation until the boy almost died and his sister did. Everyone kept allowing them to go back return to their abusive mother no matter how badly they were hurt and it was wrong. No one cared enough to get involved or put the children first until it was too late including the heroine, who was afraid of being discovered. That was sad and made me think less of the heroine and others who claimed to care but did not do anything until it was too late for the little girl and the little boy was damaged.

I haven't reviewed many books but I decided that I had to do this one. This series is such a great read that I had to keep getting the next book, I don't have much extra cash and found this was worth it.All her characters have so much depth that you feel they are alive.
I am so glad that I started to read this series. Have to say that each book just gets better and better! Love the story line and the characters! Have already ordered the next two in the series......looking forward to starting them as soon as they get delivered!
Ok, so I am completely hooked on this series now. I have loved both books and am reading the third one now. I love the world of Aaron's Kiss. The characters are interested and exciting. Ms. Barton has created a world of magical beings, vampires and werewolves. If you enjoy reading paranormal, you will love this series. Now I am off to continue reading book 3.....
I have recently discovered Kathi Barton's stories, and have yet to be disappointed. I am slowly making my way through her work, and have to say that Colin's and Shade's story is my favorite so far. I loved the interaction between the main characters, but also the reappearance of the characters from the first book in the series. the story flowed so smoothly and held my complete attention. I could not put it down until I had read the entire story.
Shade has magic, but knows not who she is or why she has this.

Colin is a Vampire in Aaron McManus' kiss.

Their meeting is explosive to say the least.

Throw in Aaron, Sara, and two injured children, a jealous she-wolf, a junkie mother, and sit back and watch the fun.

You won't be disappointed.

Ms Barton has outdone herself with this one. All you could hope for.

Wow, Kathi did not fail us on this novel as she continued Aaron's and Sara's story. They helped Colin have a life. Colin has had a run in with Shade, literally but the scent she left is lasting on Colin. Has he found his soulmate for life? Shade's life hasn't been the easiest at all. She has seen 2 children suffer in a way that no child should. Her only wish is to make sure she cares for them since their own mother had not. She doesn't understand the powers she has and thanks to our friends from the first of the series, she is going to learn that her powers are neverending. Especially when her and Colin finally get the one on one time to really find out what is meant for them. This story will have your senses everywhere. She has done a great job leaving the door wide open for more of "The Aaron's Kiss Series. Can't wait!
Shade has absolutely no idea who she is. All she knows is she has some magic that she wished she didn't. When trying to help 2 kids she's injured and doing the best she can to take care of her and them. She wants nothing to do with the bloodsucker who claims she's his mate.

Colin is ecstatic to find his mate. But after a mistake in identity he now has to convince Shade that he can be all she needs. But in order to have the love like Aaron and Sara has he's going to have to save her from her enemies as well as past enemies of the kiss.
