I've always wanted to read this series, ever since I found the first book in a random bookstore. I enjoyed and appreciated all four stories now that I'm older. I love the drawing style and the choice of environment: both fit the general story very well. My favorite character is Courtney, of course (and Uncle A. And possibly Butterworm too). I have no complaints, and I'd highly recommend this book to anyone that likes stories with grimdark settings and gloomy main characters (yes, I'm into both).

I'm on my third book in the series. It is extremely addicting! Courtney is definitely not your typical "hero" though. Don't expect a "feel good" story, but expect a good story! Love the dynamic with her uncle too. It really brings out both characters. Her lack of a nose is a bit of a distraction at first, but you get used to it quickly. Her appearance is soon overshadowed by her personality (which does evolve over time) and her circumstances. Again, I'm not finished yet, but if this book hooks you in, you are in for quite the adventure.
When I've acquainted with the digital version of this comic book, I could not resist the temptation to buy hardcovers. The series which was obviously conceived as a horror for kid, quickly turned to be the title for adults... those that are children at heart. Suspenseful story, minimalistic art, racy main character and the story that to be continued, what else do you want?
I would rate this as a must get if you're the fan of the series. I've read this book many time already but it was a whole new experience seeing the comic in color.
I wasn't quite sure if this book was going to be good or not when i bought it, but the artwork was just so awesome i had to. When i got it i read it in one sitting. That's how good it was. It pulled me in on the first page, and i just couldn't stop reading. I ended up loving all of the characters...even the mean ones. All in all i love this book and i love the second one as well. I am really glad i found this book, and that there are a lot more like it from the same author.
I love all of his books. I plan to continue my collection and hope for a lot more from the writer

If you like the Harry Potter books, you will LOVE these books. I have had them for a few years now and I love to reread them. (Read all I had again last night for instance.)

I have read many books and short stories from Andersen and Grimm to modern writers like DeLint and Rowling. But Naifeh's books stand out to me. He takes pains to un-Disneyfy the world of Faery. There is death in these tales and violence. But any gore or gruesomeness happens off-camera as it does in the best tales of suspense. Check out all of the Courtney Crumrin books --- you will definitely not regret it!
