The Ruby Knight is the second book in David Edding's second series of epic fantasy. If you liked his first, The Belgariad, you should like this book. It is almost a retelling of the first series; so like it that if someone else had written it, he would be guilty of plagiarism. As they saying goes, only the names have been changed. Even a lot of dialog has been lifted. On the other hand, I greatly enjoyed it As with The Belgariad, as you move through the series, the stories deteriorate. I gave it five stars because as it stand by itself, it is an excellent read. by David Eddings

good read
This is the second novel in the Elenium Trilogy. It is a must read if you enjoyed the first book (of course). I found the story very enthralling and kept me wanting to read even more. I have found myself wanting to kill the bad guys. I also like the action between Sparhawk (our hero) and Tinan a very young thief who it turns out is the illegitimate son of Sparhawk's squire. It adds a measure of humor to an otherwise dark story line. All in all< I would rate this a 90% enjoyable novel and would highly recommend it to any lover of the fantasy genre especially those that like a medieval type period.
Read the entire series in order to get the most of these books. Ruby Knight, Diamond Throne and Sapphire Rose. There is a follow up series that takes all the same characters and lots of new ones into the Tamul Empire. Love all these books!

One of my favorite authors. If you've read the Elenium I suggest following with the Tamuli which is phenomenal in the way it deals with characters I won't spoil.
I absolutely love David Eddings and adore all three books of this series. I used to have these books years ago and due to moving constantly I somehow lost them. I just recently reordered book two and three to reread them. I cant seem to put them down!! Everytime I immerse myself into this story I cannot put it down. I get really into the book and laugh and cry at some points. The writing is amazing and keeps me memorized through the whole book!! Definitely on my favorite books shelf.
